La Reformulación de la Política Social en Chile, 1973—2001: Un Cuestionamiento del Modelo Neoliberal

Este documento analiza el muy aclamado modelo chileno de reforma de las políticas sociales. Coloca las reformas chilenas en la coyuntura político—económica de las que surgieron y relaciona las tendencias hacia la privatización y descentralización con el movimiento neoliberal de mas amplio alcance para la reestructuración social. Mediante el examen de las reformas del sistema de pensiones, educacion y salud, se sostiene que la reformulación de las políticas sociales a la chilena presenta serias fallas en términos tanto de debilidades estructurales dominantes y una profunda polarización de la provisión de servicios. Estos factores suscitan importantes interrogantes respecto de la propagación de modelos de políticas sociales neoliberales de corte similar en el Sur Global.
